The New Club

When you first walked into the wedding breakfast room at The New Club once it had been fully set there was no escaping the heavenly scent of spring. We layered the long tables decadently with collections of glass and crystal pieces, filled with as many white and apple green flowers we could think of, full of textures and shades of colour. Adding an eclectic mix of vessels housing all sorts of candles from fat chunky ones to thin taper ones.. it was one of those looks that really maybe shouldn’t work but totally did, especially in such a dark, atmospheric room as the Dining Room in The New ClubHeathers Cakes designed the sweetest cake with gorgeous suger flower detail which we accented with a Lilly of the Vallley topper, we then popped some hydrangea between the tiers and finished off with a white muscari skirt. The views across the Edinburgh City center are beyond amazing from the Long Room and our elegant bride Katie requested that we decorated the large stone urn that separates the two rooms in the drinks reception.   We swaged the urn in seasonal flowers mimicking the stone work that was already there – it was quite a sight when you reached the top of the steps and saw it there.  You can see a before and after shot on our Facebook page.
